You must be an active ISSA Member in good standing.

Mission:
The primary objective of the ISSA International Emerging Technologies task force is to provide thought leadership, member and user awareness as well as education towards emerging technologies and novel ideas.

Vision:
Experts led, respectfully, by experts is a solution that works well within think tanks and tasks forces of this nature. This translates to aligning to a common purpose, identifying fundamental theories, beliefs, questions and concerns, collaborating with research and response and tactical goals for next steps, and performing towards a deliverable outcome (e.g. whitepaper, presentation, etc.). Content and focus of task groups must be focused upon deliverables to meet goals but is considered a living and dynamic framework, where current global events and changes in the digital environment necessarily impact focus and direction, such as a release of vulnerability information related to a focused emergent technology addressed by the task force.

Goal:

  • Identify and cultivate ISSA members who can contribute thought leadership and support of this task force.
  • Identify 1-3 possible emerging technologies for research and response by the task force at any one time towards desired deliverables of the task force.
  • Identify emerging technologies for research and response by the taskforce towards desired deliverables. Deliverables may come in a variety of formats including but not limited to blogs, white papers, online (webinar) and physical presentations, and debate boards at various global events.
  • Consider people, process, and technology, areas of likely gain and pitfalls related to implementation, business risk, and return on investment strategic concepts in all deliverables related to emerging technology. The focus of deliverables is more strategic than it is tactical but must include both for maximum impact for a global audience.
