Theme: Dust Off Your Bottles...You Might Like What’s Inside
Held in conjunction with the ISSA International Conference.
Date: October 10-11, 2013
Location: Nashville, TNOverview: Is your Information Security staff chasing the next high-tech, cutting-edge security solution but not fully utilizing solutions they already own? The vast majority of system breaches could have been avoided by the implementation of basic security controls such as regular patching, using complex passwords, providing end user awareness, maintaining proper firewall rules and system hardening. Have you purchased security solutions but only leverage a small percentage of the product’s capabilities? Do you know if your sensitive data is leaving your enterprise perimeter? Do you have visibility into the security controls where it now resides? If any of these situations ring true, this Forum is for you! Join our industry experts and your CISO peers in Nashville as we explore how to get high value out of focusing on the security basics. It’s a great value-add to the ISSA International Conference.

Agenda
Thursday – October 10, 2013 |
5:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. | Opening Keynote Dinner
Chris Finan - Former Director of Cybersecurity Legislation for the White House
The growing sophistication and continuing advancement of private sector cybersecurity efforts will change public-private partnership paradigms and provide unprecedented opportunities to shape policy and legislative efforts in Washington. DC policymakers are grappling to balance national security initiatives with private sector demands for greater transparency and privacy protections. The tension between tech sector leaders calling for greater transparency and the reluctance of national security officials to even acknowledge the existence of intrusive domestic surveillance programs is a sure harbinger of debates to come over new policies and legislation. These issues will fundamentally affect the evolution of the Cybersecurity Executive Order framework, and the future of cybersecurity legislation. The tech community has never been as consequential to DC policies as it is today. |
